I used to sweat over my cast iron, until I...Jamie,<br /><br />I used to sweat over my cast iron, until I finally relaxed and took the easy way.<br /><br />I crank up the heat on the stove, add olive oil when it's hot enough to smoke and rub it in with a paper towel. When the metal seems to stop absorbing the oil, I stop and let it cool. I don't know if veg oil would cure it the same or not.
